Blackberries

O, blackberry tart, with berries as big as your thumb, purple and black, and thick with juice, and a crust to endear them that will go to cream in your mouth, and both passing down with such a taste that will make you close your eyes and wish you might live forever in the wideness of that rich moment. --Richard Llewellyn, Welsh novelist (1907-1983)

So, who is coming over? Grin. I can't promise blackberry tart, but will blackberry cobbler do? Luke and I had a marvelous time gathering bowls full!

The quote makes my mouth water! My great-Grandma had blackberries. She invariably suffered a gallbladder attack after eating the pies that she made, but she always said the suffering was worth it.

Blackberries are my single favorite food of all time. Unfortunately I am stuck with having to buy mine at a grocery store - paying way too much for something that tastes half as good as your homegrown ones!

Enjoy!
