The Child We Always Are

You can understand and relate to most people better if you look at them ~

no matter how old or impressive they may be ~ as if they are children.

For most of us never really grow up or mature all that much ~ we simply grow taller.

O, to be sure, we laugh less and play less and wear uncomfortable disguises like adults,

but beneath the costume is the child we always are,

whose needs are simple, whose daily life is still best described by fairy tales.

I LOVE this quote - thanks for sharing it.

I find the older I grow in age the less like my age I feel and more childlike I become with the way I find delight in simple things.

That is such a lovely, truthful quote. Something I will be thinking about for a while- and carry with me forever. Thank you.

This quote rings so true for me. Fortunately, I have two young children who enjoy me most when I'm at their level, doing fun kid things. Then, when I go to work, it's with young children - and once again, I sing and dance and play and create - just like them! It's how I teach them to communicate - to try to get into their heads and find what interests them!!! THANK you for this quote! I am going to share it with my peers at work.
