Nikons are great.' :) But Country Girl~ There's your answer. :) Thanks for the compliments! I'm thinking about planning a cross country road trip with the family and bumming off all my online friends. Wouldn't that be fun?!Heidihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05878817427434603915noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5750282299627894194.post-89945262454680111892007-12-28T08:41:00.000-08:002007-12-28T08:41:00.000-08:00One other thing... If you have any old Nikon Lens'...One other thing... If you have any old Nikon Lens' lying around (All lenses from about 1955 forward work on the Nikon body's)you won't want the 40 or 40x, as they don't have auto focus control motors on the body. They have to use the new lenses, which have the motor built into them. Same thing with Flashs. You will need one of the newest external flashes for the D50, D40, D40x, or any of the newer Nikon series. So, if you know someone with lots of Nikon gear, and they may be getting rid of it, you may want to find a D50 laying around. The review linked earlier has much more info about the pros and cons of this camera, as well as info on other cameras you might select.

RussAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-5750282299627894194.post-41743922525996842322007-12-28T08:27:00.000-08:002007-12-28T08:27:00.000-08:00Heidi's Husband says... Two Lenses and the 10.1 Megapixel resolution.. but ours does so well that it is a hard sell. I did purchase the D80 a year ago, and after using it two weeks returned it because we felt the D50 returned consistently better photos "straight from the camera"
With the current price incentives from Nikon, I think this would be a great buy for a first time DSLR buyer who wants the class of camera most pros would buy if they didn't need to show the world how successful they are with the D100/D200/D300 etc. and Fuji S series. Sometimes it is a pain to carry around, though, and I envy those with little cameras that fit in a pocket or purse. :)

All of my photos are straight from the camera. I wish I would make time to figure out photoshop. It takes me forever to get comfortable with stuff like that! Maybe this next year...

Lulu~ I'm so glad you said hi!
