On My Book Pile:

In the DVD player (and on my book pile, and finished up with Levi on audio CD):

The Secret Garden:

Reading to the Boys:

Henry David's House

Is the theme obvious?

Maybe I just need some spring to arrive.

I can't wait to hear what you think about 'Animal, Vegetable, Miracle'. I've been wanting to read that one as well.

Looks like you've picked some great ones! Happy reading!

Animal, Vegetable, Miracle was a real eye-opener for me. Be forewarned, it will change the way you eat and if you do have the room you will want to plant a garden immediately! :)

Hi Heidi

You always feature such fascinating books. How on earth do you come across such finds?

We've had some publicity here about the Lost Child In the Woods and I will certainly be buying this book.

Warmest wishes
Elise

I just finished Last Child in the Woods. It's excellent! I'm trying to make sure my girls are playing outside for longer periods now. I have seen a noticeable difference in their attitude and sense of calmness when they've played outside versus being inside. There is just something about being in nature that can not be met through watching tv or playing a gameboy. Imagine that!

I really enjoyed Last Child in the Woods! And Animal, Vegetable, Miracle is on my mental "to read" list.

We have every one of these books except the one by Rachel Carson. I have never heard of that one! Loved them all! Enjoy!

Heidi,

I was just curious, do you use Sonlight curriculum? Or do you just pull all of this wonderful educational material out from thin air...lol! If you do use Sonlight, what do you think of it? I am considering it for my boys next year because the focus is very much that of Charlotte Mason, but it has the needed structure that my boys most certainly will require! :) Your blog is always so inspiring. Thanks!

Blessings!
