Party!

Library Collage

We partied at the local library's open house today. They have recently moved into a much larger, bright, renovated space and thought it was high time to celebrate. We've visited quite a few times (yesterday, in fact) since they opened at the beginning of the month, but couldn't resist the promise of cake, live music, crafts, and the Cat in the Hat.

I've been enjoying the expanded parking area, automated book returns, faster check-out, roomier book shelves (the books were packed in there at the old location!), a huge children's room with a large play space and comfy seating, and the fresh over-all atmosphere. One of the best things: the new location is just across the street from the previous space, at a very convenient spot in town. I think the library deserves an A+.

Great pictures! can i ask you a silly question? how do you get your pictures to collage? is it through a program? i am such an amateur but i love the way you put all the pictures together and i'd love to try it. thanks for your help.

Jillian~ That's not a silly question! I used the free online program at picnik.com. They have many collage options through the free program, but I did upgrade to premium for the tiny amount of $24.95/yr. I think this collage might have been one of the premium ones. Go check it out, though! It is sooooo fun (and quite easy to use!). :)

Wow! Love the new library. Can't wait to visit once we get back home. Thanks for posting the photos, it is fun to see.

BTW, your collage is cuter than the ones I do-I like the green border, but I use Picasa (a free photo program) for my collages. It too is super easy and works well with blogger. Just sharing another option...

We love libraries with children's play areas! The play area and story times are what get us through winter here. Your new library looks like a lovely place.
